Welcome to the Student Connection and Leadership Center Site!
We are a campus resource devoted to inspiring BYU students to create lasting connections, foster an inclusive campus, cultivate skills and talents, and live with integrity. We do this through providing Christ-centered leadership opportunities and creating meaningful student-focused experiences. We would love to have you get involved! Learn more about the Center, who we are, and what we do through the pages on this site.
The Student Connection and Leadership Center is made up of several different areas. Refer to the organization chart below and learn more about each area in their respective tabs at the top of the page.
BYUSA and the SCLC has made my BYU experience so much better and full than it would have been without it. Because of BYUSA I’ve been able to participate in causing real changes at BYU, like putting free feminine hygiene dispensers in the bathrooms and bettering the financial resources BYU offers! If someone wanted to get more involved at BYU I would absolutely tell them to join BYUSA.
[The Student Connection and Leadership Center] has been amazing. Not only does the environment feel inclusive and kind, but it is also a place where we can all learn from and help each other. With that we can then help students on campus. It's fulfilling to see people having fun from events that we have advertised or planned for.
The Student Connection and Leadership Center has been my home at BYU. It has been where I have found my confidence, made lifelong friendships, and solidified my love for service. When I walk into that office, I know that I will be warmly received, which means so much. I know who I am at BYU thanks to the SCLC!
Besides serving students, BYUSA offers a home to students. I found some of my best friends within this organization. College is really hard if we are being honest with ourselves, and BYUSA is a safe place that can be a reprieve from all the stressors.
I've had so much volunteering for BYUSA and feeling like a part of something bigger than myself at BYU. I've found so much joy meeting new people and planning events with them that bring so much joy to BYU's community. I'm excited to continue serving my school with so many amazing people!
What a wonderful opportunity it’s been to participate in BYUSA! What started as a brief meeting in the Wilk has turned into a love and desire for helping others at BYU feel a sense of belonging. I’m excited for the future opportunities I’ll have to help others connect and feel loved!
What excites me most about my work in the Student Connection and Leadership Center is the relationships I get to build with students. They're cooler than they know, and they inspire me and make me laugh every day.
Volunteering with BYUSA allows me to connect with others in a meaningful, impactful way. I get to collaborate with high-aspiring people to create experiences for students and serve others. I love that I can help others grow a sense of belonging at BYU and grow as an individual too!
Being a part of the SCL Center has been THE highlight of my BYU experience... Participating as a student leader and inviting my friends and roommates to come join me has given me a solid network of meaningful connections, and being mentored by other staff and volunteers has been so helpful in navigating the stresses and setbacks inevitable in college and in life.
Before joining BYUSA I didn’t really feel a connection to BYU, but since I started volunteering with BYUSA my eyes have been opened to how many amazing people are here at BYU and what a blessing it is to be at this amazing school! Joining BYUSA has helped me to really feel like I have a meaningful part to play in the BYU community!
