Emily is the Student Connection and Leadership Center’s Office Manager. She spent most of her childhood in Indiana, but moved around a lot as she is an Air Force ‘Brat’. After high school, she moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education. She also received an Educational Leadership License from SUU. Prior to coming to BYU, Emily taught junior high and high school band for 17 years. She also spent some time working with a music education company in Salt Lake City and as the Assistant to the Dean at UVU’s College of Engineering & Technology.
Emily has been married to her husband, Jason, since 2004, and has two children. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, attending her kids’ band and choir concerts, and watching sports - particularly BYU football and her son's baseball team. Music is also huge part of her life – she says there is always a song in her head. A fun fact about Emily is that she started college as a math major and never lost her love for the subject. She also grew up performing in a circus!
