3222 WSC “Time Management, Its About Time”
Shanda Thompson is an academic advisor at Utah State University. Before transitioning to advising, she served an academic mentor and tutor for the USU Athletics department. Balancing grad school, work, and a social life necessitated the development of new time management skills. Unfortunately, time travel was not an option, so Shanda created a reflective time management practice. She used this practice to successfully complete her MEd in higher education student affairs. She has since shared this practice in workshops and as an adjunct instructor of strategies for academic success. She continues to use this practice and it saw her through completing an MPH in nutrition. Prior to her MEd she completed a BS in exercise science and a BA in international studies. Shanda is a lifelong learner and enjoys good books, movies, and music, often incorporating quotes from all three into her daily life.
