Preserving Our Purpose

The purpose of BYU is to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life. Every student who chose BYU chose that purpose. But purpose fades when we try to be like every other university. BYU isn't here to compete with them. It's here to become something they can't. Becoming BYU means doubling down on what makes this place different, not softening it. That's what we're running to preserve.

Who We Are

Hudson Vogel

Hudson Vogel grew up in Seattle, Washington, and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Antonio, Texas. He's married and loves sports, reading, writing, and movies. He is Co-President of the Silver Fund, BYU's premier investment fund, mentoring 30+ students while driving organizational improvements. Before that, he was a Program Director at Y-Serve's Seeds of Success, overseeing 100+ volunteers organizing BYU student tutoring to K-12 students across the valley. He's worked in finance, seen how high-performing organizations operate, and knows what separates leadership that works from leadership that wastes time. This summer, he heads to Wall Street. But right now, his focus is here.

Our Four Pillars

1. Identity

BYUSA exists to help you discover and develop your divine potential. We're here to support your transformation, not distract from it.

2. Connection

You can't fulfill your purpose alone. Real community isn't built through mandatory fun. It's built when students feel seen, known, and supported. BYUSA creates the space for these relationships where you find belonging and growth.

3. Service

Service is gratitude in action. Your purpose is fulfilled through serving others. Leadership means lifting people, not just managing programs.

4. Alignment

When your personal purpose, BYUSA's purpose, and BYU's purpose align, that's when transformation happens. We're here to remove barriers and create that alignment, not add noise.

Robert Kennedy said, "There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not."

We're running to protect what BYU was built for. If you believe the purpose still matters, if you want leadership that protects what brought you here, vote Vogel-Parr on February 26th.

This purpose is worth preserving.
